Types of CBD Oil

Let’s take a look at some of the types of CBD oil products and talk about the difference in quality. As the industry grows, it is important to remember some of the terms are evolving. Let’s talk about a few of the plant’s beneficial compounds. Cannabinoids, there are more than 100 cannabinoids including CBD and THC. Which are both responsible for the therapeutic and psychoactive effects of cannabis products. There are more than 150 terpenes in cannabis that affect the plant’s fragrance. Which can also have a therapeutic benefit. (Such as lavender having a calming effect, and orange having an energizing effect.) Then you have Flavonoids, cannabis includes about 20 different flavonoids which are also found in all kinds of plants such as fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. Like terpenes they also have therapeutic effects.

RAW CBD OIL VS. CBD CONCENTRATE

When essential oils from the hemp plant are extracted, the resulting products is known as raw hemp extract. The raw extract is out through a series of distillation, and filtration to remove any unwanted compounds, such as waxes and chlorophyll, which produces a class of oils that disparate in purity and CBD content. The refined oils re then referred to as CBD concentrate or CBD distillate.

Raw CBD Oil vs. CBD Concentrate

When the essential oils of the hemp plant are first extracted, the resulting product is considered raw hemp extract. This raw extract can be put through a series of filtration and distillation processes to remove unwanted compounds, such as waxes and chlorophyll, and produce various classes of oils differing in purity and CBD content. These refined oils are referred to as CBD concentrate or CBD distillate.

What Is Full Spectrum CBD Oil?

Full spectrum CBD oil contains cannabis plant extract, including essential oils, terpenes, and cannabinols. Full spectrum CBD may also contain up to 0.3% of THC, which is the cannabinoid in the cannabis plant that produces the “high” feeling. With such a small amount of THC in full spectrum CBD oil it is not enough for you to get high.

What Is Broad Spectrum CBD Oil?

Borad Spectrum CBD oil is pretty similar to Full spectrum CBD oil; however, it has all of the THC extracted, but retains the original concentrations of cannabinoids, and terpenes found in raw PCR hemp extract. Broad spectrum is a perfect choice for those who want absolutely no THC in their CBD product.

What Is CBD Isolate?

CBD can be isolated and purified. Pure CBD is known as CBD isolate. In the pure form and at room temperature, cannabinoids are a solid crystal. They are colorless and odorless. CBD isolate can be consumed directly, or can be used in edibles or beverages. Unfortunately, CBD isolate is without the beneficial terpenes and other cannabinoids that are naturally found in the plant.
